Formed in 2011 by James Hayes (Shadow FX) and Algernon Renton (Mustard Tiger/Positive Thought). The project was aptly named STAUNCH; a bass heavy, funk laden mid-tempo breaks/ glitch hop project. Both artists stemming from progressive trance backgrounds and influenced by the Australian outdoor music scene’s shift toward glitch music, Staunch are forging a fresh, intricate and unique style.
In 2015 Staunch released their debut album ‘Dissecting the Groove’, proving they can meld genres without losing their slick, distinctive sound.
'Thrustin’ Beaver’, their 2013 EP, reached the top 5 overall sellers in the Beatport charts, and in December 2013 they had their first #1 single on Beatport's Glitch Hop Singles chart.
