Party: Philéas Fogg Trio

Biog:
Philéas Fogg Trio is born from the desire of its three members to combine a love for the classic jazz repertoire with European romanticism. The values of the romantic movements are explored through the light of the great jazz repertoire, highlighting passion and melancholy as the source of an authentic aesthetic experience.
Andreana Micanova (piano), originally from Macedonia, grew up in a musical environment and has been performing both in classical and jazz settings from a very young age. She travelled the world after completing a BMus in Jazz at the Goce Delcev Music Academy, Stip and settled in Melbourne in 2015.
Daniel Seddon (bass) completed his BMus in popular music in London (UK) and has since worked with a wide variety of artists both live and in studio. He recently moved to Melbourne where he has been able to express his boundless creativity with various jazz bands.
Philippe Castermane (drums), originally from France, is a freelance drummer who recently relocated in Melbourne after a 14 years stint in London. During that time, he was lucky enough to perform with the likes of John Wheatcroft, Rob Statham, Ronan McCullagh and Martin Shaw to name a few. Since relocating to Australia he has performed in and around Melbourne.

Monk Reloaded:
“As a trio we find Thelonious Monk’s music a constant source of marvel and inspiration: it is highly rhythmical and mysterious, littered with hooks yet convoluted, charming always, dissonant sometimes and eternally beautiful”.
Monk Reloaded by Philéas Fogg Trio seeks to embrace the lyrical and romantic aspects of Monk’s music through a quintessentially European interpretation. Andreana Micanova (Macedonia) on piano, Dan Seddon (UK) on bass and Philippe Castermane (France) on drums, invite you to share a moment exploring the timeless Monk’s songbook.
