Party: Elementary Dragon Boat Festival 2017

2017 ELEMENTARY DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
Event Description:
This annual competition enables young people to paddle in a team boat called a Dragon Boat against other teams. Each team has 18 - 20 members (max. of 12 boys per team). The team will practice together twice and then will compete in a championship regatta!! All equipment, including PFD’s will be supplied.
Registration:
A registration form and a $30 fee are required for each participant.
Please submit all registration forms and payment (cheque) to your adult chaperone no later than May 17th. Only cheques payable to Mississauga Canoe Club will be accepted.
Practices:
All sessions will take place at the Mississauga Canoe Club. Each crew will be assigned two 1-hour practice opportunities with their Mississauga Canoe Club experienced coaches. The practice sessions will be scheduled after school between 4:00 – 6:00pm.
Please arrive to each practice 15-min early so that the practice can start on time. Some things to bring to practice and race day:
! Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!
! Sunscreen / Hat
! Come ready to have lots of FUN!!
! All parents, family and friends are welcome to come watch and cheer!!
Practice Schedule:
Practices will begin May 23rd and will run for two weeks, finishing with the championship race on Thursday June 8th (rain date June 9th).
