Teddy D Promotions Ltd. has the pleasure of presenting one of the true vocal queens of modern day jazz, Carmen Lundy. Born out of a strong tradition of classic American jazz singers Lundy has not being shackled with the restriction of being just an interpreter. She is an extraordinary vocalist, composer and arranger. Her sound is unique. Gifted with her vocal instrument her singing is reminiscent of a traditional jazz singer but her music and sound is pure soul with a strong hint of R & B and an insatiable underlying groove. This is her debut appearance in Dublin having first appeared in Ireland during the 2014 Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. Lundy is one of those outstanding artists who will make you wonder how could you not have heard of her before. However, now that you know you will be hooked for life!

Carmen Lundy is a native of Florida. She has studied classical singing before the allure of jazz singing overpowered her. Her albums over the years have appeared regularly in Jazz Week’s Top 10. In April 2016, Carmen Lundy was honoured with the 2016 Lifetime Achievement in Jazz Award by Black Women In Jazz and The Arts, based in Atlanta, GA. She is also holder of the Keys to Miami City with Carmen Lundy Day being January 25th in that town. She will be appearing in Dublin as part of a European tour taking in Milan, London and Paris.
Carmen Lundy’s work as a vocalist and composer has been critically acclaimed by The New York Times, The Village Voice, The Los Angeles Times, Variety, The Washington Post, Jazz Times, Jazziz, Downbeat and Vanity Fair among many others, as well as numerous foreign publications.
