Hercules and Love Affair have always been a collaborative mixture of different personalities, continuing in an amorphous pattern. Ringmaster Andy Butler says he has only one consideration when assembling a new line-up for a pristine phase of his epic musical journey through the dynamics of past, present and future night-life."The key to the Hercules project is that I don't want people coming to the table with nothing to say!"

In their latest release, The Feast Of The Broken Heart, ideas of gender, feminism and identity are copuled with pumping pop-house aesthetics that evoke early 90s underground techno and house. This time Butler collaborated with four singers, including troubadour John Grant and powerhouse Krystle Warren as well as Viennese house-and-techno revivalists Haze Factory and industrial music stalwart Mark Pistel. In a wider aspect, Hercules and Love Affair pride themselves on making thoughtful and soulful dance music in comparison to mainstream dance music that increasingly caters to aggro machismo and mindless escapism.
