Party: Kids summer programme August 2017

Brazilarte Academy is pleased to present our summer workshops programme for young people ( and parents that want to stick around ) which will run for two weeks in August.

See the descriptions below for each workshop.

TIME : 1100 - 1500
VENUE : Brazilarte Academy, Kensington Road, Southend on Sea

** PLEASE BRING A PACK LUNCH to each session

** Our instructors are DBS checked + hold Public Liability insurance.

MONDAY 7th August // Brinquedo De Rua
Street toys // This workshop will introduce traditional arts and techniques of making your own toys which Brazilian kids make to play outside. There will be kite making, the art of paper aeroplanes and more fun and games.

WEDNESDAY 9th August // Caxixi making // The caxixi is a traditional percussion instrument, which is woven from organic materials. They will learn the techniques to make their shaker and take it home with them at the end of the day.

MONDAY 14th August // RECYCLED MUSIC // Well be making our own instruments and learning how to play the traditional rhythms of Brazil. It presents how affordable percussion can be and how to use creativity within music.

WEDNESDAY 16th August // Capoeira // Learn the acrobatic art of Capoeira and its percussive music. No previous experience needed. Capoeira is a FUN and expressive art that promotes play, individuality and creativity.
